‘No Room for Squares’ by tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley is a classic early 60s Blue Note hard bop record and features an array of jazz stars: trumpeters Lee Morgan and Donald Byrd, pianists Andrew Hill and Herbie Hancock and drummer Philly Joe Jones. The Allmusic review by Thom Jurek awarded the album 4 stars stating, “All [the] cuts here move with similar fluidity and offer a very gritty and realist approach to the roots of hard bop. Highly recommended.”
