Dublin/Leipzig-based rock duo Bicurious have announced the upcoming release of their second album Your Life is Over Now… due 4th October 2024 via their new home in Big Scary Monsters. The band have shared the first single ‘Acrylic Fences’; a powerful, raw and vulnerable rock song which attempts to put relationship struggles and communication breakdowns into words. The album itself draws influence from the likes of Biffy Clyro, Reuben and Thrice, and is a much more lyrical body of work than Bicurious’ previous material, as the band tread new sonic ground. The funding of the album was made possible by a crowdfunding campaign, through which fans helped the band raise over €9000. Thematically, the album explores the various facets of the idea of family, and as one can tell from their crowdfunding efforts, their fans play a crucial role in Bicurious’ idea of family. They released their début album ‘(re)constructed’ on the 30th of July 2021, to critical acclaim from the likes of Metal Hammer, Noizze UK and Distorted Sound Magazine. They see it as their most ambitious and accomplished work yet, as it thematically follows a timeline of events highlighting the members’ dramatic life changes in the last 3 years.
