Sheryl Crow wants to tell the truth, and nothing but the truth. New album ‘THREADS’ is her whole story, moving from her childhood right to the present day, and her experiences as a mother.

Pulling together all these strings and more, ‘THREADS’ moves from honky tonk stompers through to stomp blues workouts, featuring a plethora of guests. ‘Redemption Day’ boasts a vocal from the late great Johnny Cash, while ‘Live Wire’ pits Sheryl Crow against Bonnie Raitt and Mavis Staples. “This is where my story begins; in the imagination of a young girl from Missouri who began to feel a part of a beautiful and inspiring universe of art, created by musicians who made me want to leave my small town and embark on something bigger than anything I could possibly imagine,” muses Crow.

“As I became a mother, I’ve explored life through my children and seen the greater impact of our actions and voices. This collection is the ‘THREADS’ of both my inspirations and younger artists carrying the torch for humanity with their stories.” Album standout ‘Still The Good Old Days’ airs on Clash first, and it comes complete with a highly personal video for the legendary songwriter. Shot in part in Sheryl’s property in Nashville, it also takes us into the studio as she works alongside The Eagles’ Joe Walsh, who also features on the track.

Directed by Peter Harding and Liz Porter, it’s neatly brings together some of the main themes on the album. Sheryl comments: “’Still The Good Old Days’ totally captures what Joe and I believe about getting older…that life is still fun no matter what stage of life you are at, and that living isn’t just for the young.”
