KITES is a special new mini-album by Sarah Cracknell, born from the recording of last year’s acclaimed solo record Red Kite. Only available as a strictly limited 10” vinyl LP, KITES boasts unique instrumental renditions of songs from Red Kite.

“I wanted to make something more pastoral and cinematic,” says Sarah. “Ennio Morricone, baroque pop and the string arrangements of Robert Kirby were among our touchstones. My producer and co-writer Carwyn Ellis would send instrumental tracks over and I fell in love with them.”

“I found myself playing the backing tracks and hatching ideas of remixing them and adding parts to make themmore complete,” continues Sarah. “We added some new instrumentation, extra backing vocals from meand a gospel choir. I’m really pleased with the way it sounds. Less of me but just the right amount of everything. It’s Lagom, as the people of Sweden might say. Like the soundtrack to a film that’s yet to be made.”.
