A new five-track EP from the legendary Santana. It features three “spellbinding and transportive new songs” plus two alternative mixes, that guitar legend Carlos Santana was inspired to write after viewing Leonardo da Vinci‘s masterpiece Mona Lisa at the Louvre museum in Paris for the first time.

According to a press release, “All it took was one look into the implacable eyes of the Mona Lisa for Santana to feel as though something strange and powerful was taking place.”

The recording is the first release of a new deal that Santana has signed with Concord Records. The EP will be followed by a full-length album produced by Rick Rubin that’s expected to arrive this summer.

“Carlos Santana is an artist of singular voice. Immediately recognized for his signature sound and celebrated as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, his gift for melody and ability to seamlessly fuse and transcend musical genres has inspired us all,” says Concord Records president John Burk.

“We are thrilled to welcome Carlos to the Concord family and look forward to where his seemingly endless creativity, curiosity and passion take us.”

The EP was produced by Narada Michael Walden and Carlos Santana.
